The Drunkard

Muddy Mississippi River sits stagnate
unable to reflect off its ecru surface
only the giggles of a diseased man bounce up
to the commercial advertising his cheap bourbon brand

he tries to record this moment but cannot
only black memories resurface
his heart writhes in wanton pain
